FIFA Announces First-Ever Championship Rings for FIFA World Cup 2026 Winners
FIFA has introduced NFL-style championship rings for the FIFA World Cup 2026 champions, including custom designs, individual numbering, and a plan for official
FIFA has announced that the winners of the FIFA World Cup 2026 final will receive more than the trophy and gold medals. For the first time in FIFA competition history, the champion team will also be given official championship rings, following a tradition widely seen in American sports.
The announcement came ahead of the final in New York/New Jersey Stadium. On Sunday, the team that lifts the World Cup will add a third symbol of victory alongside the trophy and the traditional winners’ medals.

How the rings will be made and delivered
FIFA said 30 rings will be reserved for the members of the winning squad. Each ring will be individually numbered, custom-fitted to the player, and delivered with a certificate of authenticity. The ring design will feature the FIFA World Cup Trophy on one side, while the other side will be personalised for the champion nation, including its crest, colours, and identity elements.
In a ceremonial step, FIFA will present temporary rings to the winning captain and head coach immediately after the final whistle. The full set for the squad will be presented later, after each ring is finished and fitted.
More rings for fans through licensed merchandise
FIFA also outlined a wider plan for production. It will make exactly 2,026 individually numbered rings. Beyond the 30 rings for the champions, FIFA said the remaining 1,996 will be released worldwide as official licensed merchandise.
FIFA described the move as a lasting keepsake for champions, something the trophy and medals cannot fully provide. With the 2026 tournament hosted across the United States, Canada, and Mexico, the governing body said it is drawing from the sporting culture of its North American host nations.
Either Spain or Argentina will receive the rings after the final, with both teams having reached the match after winning their respective semifinal games. On Sunday, the World Cup title decision will be made, and the first-ever FIFA championship rings will be worn by the champions.
