The Mizo Zirlai Pawl (MZP) has invited candidates who have faced difficulties in the Mizoram Public Service Commission (MPSC) recruitment process to attend a meeting in Aizawl. The decision was taken after an emergency meeting of the MZP General Headquarters Executive Committee held on Tuesday, chaired by MZP president Dr C. Lalremruata.
The student body said the emergency meeting reviewed multiple problems reported by job seekers during the recruitment process. MZP expressed concern that recent issues in the commission’s functioning could weaken the trust of young aspirants in the state’s main recruitment agency.
MZP asks candidates to share issues linked to One Time Registration
As part of its response, MZP plans to hold an interactive discussion for affected candidates on Wednesday, August 5. The organisation said candidates should gather at the MZP General Headquarters office at Treasury Square, Aizawl, at 11 am. MZP said the meeting is meant to understand grievances and decide on measures to take forward.
According to MZP, it has been closely monitoring complaints connected to the MPSC recruitment process. The student body highlighted cases involving the MPSC One Time Registration (OTR) system, including situations where candidates were rejected due to problems related to OTR. MZP also pointed to instances where candidates who cleared written examinations were later disqualified because of OTR-related discrepancies.
Student body pushes for stronger commission functioning
MZP said it will push for steps to strengthen the MPSC and improve how it functions. The organisation also mentioned the need to address staffing requirements, as part of efforts to make recruitment processes more transparent and efficient.
MZP appealed to all candidates who faced issues in OTR or other recruitment-related matters to attend the meeting and share their experiences. The student body said the aim is to develop a way forward that can improve public confidence in the recruitment process.
