Manipur CM chairs Unified Command meeting to review law and order, highway security

Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh chaired a Unified Command security meeting in Imphal to review law and order and the security situation along Manipur’s NH

Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh chaired a Combined Headquarters (Unified Command) security meeting at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat in Imphal. The meeting focused on steps to assess and strengthen the state’s security.

Officials reviewed the prevailing law and order situation across Manipur. The unified forum also discussed the security scenario along the National Highways passing through the state, focusing on how protection and coordination could be improved.

Security meeting attended by senior state and central officials

The meeting was attended by Dr. Puneet Kumar Goel, Chief Secretary, Manipur; Kuldiep Singh, Advisor (Security) Government of Manipur; and Mukesh Singh, Director General of Police (DGP), Manipur. Also present were Lhari Dorjee Lhatoo, ADGP (Intelligence), Major General Gaurav Sharma of IGAR (South), and Major General Subhankar Basu, GOC 57 Mountain Division.

Central forces and intelligence representatives also took part. Among them were Shri Rajendra Narayan Dash, IG, CRPF (M&N Sector); the Joint Director of the SIB under the Ministry of Home Affairs; the Deputy Inspector General of BSF; the Commandant of ITBP; and the Officer Commanding of SSB, Manipur.

Further discussion on public transport resumption

After the Unified Command meeting, the Chief Minister chaired another high-level discussion with the same senior security officials and representatives of transporters. This session covered the resumption of bus services between Imphal and Guwahati, as well as Imphal and Dimapur.

The feed states that the resumption of the Imphal-Guwahati and Imphal-Dimapur bus services was jointly declared by the Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister Nemcha Kipgen, and Saitu Assembly Constituency MLA Haokholet Kipgen from Kangpokpi District Headquarters earlier in the month. The security review and the transport discussion were held together as part of the broader coordination efforts.
