Manipur CM meets actor Randeep Hooda and actress Lin Laishram in Imphal

Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh met actor and filmmaker Randeep Hooda and actress Linthoingambi (Lin) Laishram at the Chief Minister’s Bungalow in Babupara, Imphal, on Thursday evening. The meeting brought together public figures with a focus on the wider situation in the state and the need for peace and stability.

During the interaction, Hooda congratulated Singh for taking office as Chief Minister, while referring to the difficult law and order situation in Manipur. Singh acknowledged the challenges of assuming office during that period and said he remains confident that normalcy will return.

Discussion on restoring peace

Singh also recalled his visit to Jiribam district as part of a peace initiative. He said the effort helped reduce a trust deficit among communities there and that people are once again living together peacefully. He also appealed to communities to support the ongoing peace process to help restore harmony.

The Chief Minister said the loss of lives and damage to property caused by the crisis have been deeply disheartening. He added that the government is extending support to protect lives and urged unity among communities.

Traditional meet-and-greet after the talks

After the meeting, Singh and his wife held a traditional Khechri with Hooda and Laishram. Later, Hooda shared a peace appeal with the people of Manipur, urging all communities to come together as one human family and embrace peace, harmony, and compassion.

Hooda has produced and directed the biopic “Swatantrya Veer Savarkar” and also played a role in the Hollywood film “Extraction.” Lin Laishram, a noted actress, model, entrepreneur, and former national-level archer from Manipur, has worked in Hindi films and web productions and is known for promoting Manipur’s cultural heritage. They were blessed with a daughter after their marriage in November 2023.
