Nagaland will host its first dedicated Tech & Gaming Expo later this month. The two-day event, called TXG 2026, is being organised by the Nagaland E-Sports Society (NES) in Kohima. It will be held on August 28 and 29 at the NBCC Convention Hall.
The expo is being organised in collaboration with the Government of Nagaland. Organisers say the programme will bring together competitive gaming, technology showcases, education, careers and the creator economy in one place. The theme for the inaugural edition is “Where Technology, Gaming and Culture Converge.”
Esports and game development on one platform
TXG 2026 is planned as a multidisciplinary event. Along with esports, it will include a game development showcase for local developers and students. Visitors will also be able to see technology demonstrations and innovation ideas presented by participants. The event is described as a bridge between esports and broader digital opportunities such as startups and entrepreneurship.
Organisers say the technologies behind modern gaming, including artificial intelligence, cloud computing and real-time graphics, are also shaping the wider digital economy. The expo is designed to support skill development through career discussions, workshops, mentoring sessions and interactive question-and-answer activities with industry experts.
Multiple tournaments with livestreaming
The expo will include three major competitive gaming categories. These are the Inter-College Championship for colleges in Nagaland, an Open MOBA 5v5 tournament on Mobile Legends, and a set of mini tournaments. The mini tournaments will feature EA Sports FC 26, Clash Royale, Tekken 8, Dirt Rally 2.0, Street Fighter 6 and Ludo King. Matches will be livestreamed with professional shoutcasters and broadcast-quality production.
Beyond competitions, TXG 2026 will have interactive gaming zones, product showcases and technology exhibitions. There will also be a cosplay competition with costume contests, performances and photo zones. An innovation hub and dedicated networking spaces are planned for startups, creators, exhibitors and vendors. The event is supported by multiple departments of the Government of Nagaland and institutional partners including the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), NIELIT, YouthNet, NE8 and Nagaland Tourism.
