Nepali Film “Pachis Pachis” Announced; Darjeeling Comedian Bhakte Bhai to Make Silver-Screen Debut
The Nepali feature film Pachis Pachis has been officially announced in Kathmandu. Produced by Karn Entertainment, it will star Abhishek Khadka and Khushi Karki,
A new Nepali feature film, Pachis Pachis, was officially announced at a launch event in Kathmandu. The programme was held at Casa Lounge Bar in Durbar Marg, where the team shared the film’s title along with the production details and main cast.
The film is being directed by Subrat Acharya, a filmmaker with a background in journalism and earlier work in cinema and music videos. According to the announcement, this will be his third feature film as a director. The production will be led by Karn Entertainment, with Karn Karki as producer, supported by co-producers Ajay Neupane and Dhirendra Lal Karn. Dipendra Gautam “Michael” is listed as the executive producer, while Prakash Kandel and Manisha Raut are named as line producers.

Lead cast and creative team revealed
The makers said the film will star Abhishek Khadka and Khushi Karki in lead roles. It also features Pramod Agrahari, a well-known Nepali actor known for a wide range of performances. For the creative team, Subrat Acharya and Jaya are credited with the story, while Sushil Devkota is listed as the screenwriter.
Hari Humagain has been named as the cinematographer. Royal Bhimsen will handle poster and publicity design. The production team said filming is expected to begin soon after the launch.
Bhakte Bhai to debut as an actor
A key highlight of the project is the acting debut of Amit Subba, popularly known as Bhakte Bhai. He is a comedian and digital content creator from Darjeeling, and the announcement credits his online work through The Rising Boys Entertainment YouTube channel with building a large fan base across Nepal, Darjeeling, and Sikkim. Pachis Pachis is described as his first appearance on the Nepali silver screen.
Speaking about the project, the director said the film aims to capture the feel of Nepali society. The cast also expressed excitement about the storyline. The makers say Pachis Pachis is planned as wholesome entertainment with a social-comedy narrative grounded in Nepali culture.
