Dedicated database for student patients

The meeting focused on introducing a dedicated data collection mechanism for college students admitted as patients at New STNM Hospital. The plan is to keep details in addition to the existing patient registration system. The separate database would capture information such as a student’s name, age, and educational institution, including the college.

According to the hospital and delegation, the goal is to improve coordination with educational institutions and enable quicker welfare assistance when needed. It is also intended to help authorities identify student patients more efficiently during hospital care.

Hospital issues office order for record keeping

Dr. Suresh Madan Rasaily welcomed the proposal, describing it as an innovative approach that could serve as a student-centric model for hospital administration. He and other senior officials assured the delegation that the hospital would begin administrative steps and issue an official notification to operationalize the initiative at New STNM Hospital.

After the meeting, New STNM Hospital issued an office order for record maintenance related to college students during admission. The order directed all administrative and clinical staff to keep exhaustive and accurate records for college student in-patients. It also stated that there would be zero tolerance for incomplete files or missing documentation.

The order further instructed staff to collect and verify valid identification at admission, and to clearly mark the patient file in the hospital information system as “College Student In-Patient”. The initiative is positioned as a step toward implementing a more responsive and student-friendly support system during illness.
